You may wish to consider a facelift if you have decreased skin elasticity and muscle tone in your face and neck, jowls and deep creases between the base of the nose and the corners of the mouth, you feel you have a tired appearance, or you feel you lack youthful chin and neck contours.
Facelifts range from "mini" to "standard" depending on the location and extent of laxity in your skin. Incisions are made in the hairline or along the edge of the hairline, above the ear extending down around the lobe and ending in or below the hairline behind the ear. The layers beneath the skin are tightened, the neck muscles are tightened, the facial skin is re-draped and lifted, and the excess skin is removed.
You will go home with your head and neck wrapped in dressings that are usually removed the next day. Sutures are removed within two weeks and bruising and swelling decrease to "socially acceptable" levels in 10 to 20 days. The final result is evident in a month to a month and a half, with continued improvement for several months. Many patients choose to have their eyes and brows lifted in addition to the facelift.

This procedure is intended to give a more youthful and rested appearance to your eyes or to widen your field of vision if excessive upper lid skin is interfering with your vision. It will soften, but not totally erase, wrinkle lines.
The incisions are made where the natural crease should be in the upper lids and below the lash line in the lower lids, and excess fat and skin are removed. If only fat is being removed from the lower lids, Dr. Poole may recommend transconjunctival blepharoplasty, where the fat is removed through an incision inside the lower lids with no external incision or scar.
Sutures are usually removed within four to six days. Bruising and sensitivity to light last at least a week or two and swelling progressively disappears over several weeks. Eye makeup may be worn shortly after sutures are removed and contact lenses may be worn when you feel comfortable, generally within seven to ten days.

You may wish to consider a neck lift if you have localized deposits of fat in the front part of your neck under your chin, muscle laxity under your chin only, or sagging skin with folds in the front part of your neck.
An incision is made under the chin and fat is suctioned or directly excised, muscles are tightened, and a small amount of skin may be removed, all depending on your particular anatomy.
You will go home with your chin and neck wrapped in dressings or in an elastic neck sling. Swelling and bruising fade over the next couple weeks, with the final result evident in one to three months. Some patients have this procedure with a facelift, liposuction of the face and neck, or a chin augmentation.

This procedure is intended to give your nose a more attractive shape or better proportion to your other facial features.
Incisions are made inside the nostrils and the nasal bones, cartilage and soft tissues are reshaped to improve the external contour.
You will go home with an external cast or splint. If necessary, your nose may be packed for a day or two. The cast or splint is generally removed in seven to ten days. The external sutures if any, are removed in four to six days, and internal sutures dissolve. The majority of the swelling and bruising subsides gradually over two to four weeks. A semifinal result is evident in about three months. The final result is evident in about a year, which is the time necessary for complete tissue softening. Some patients will have a chin augmentation in addition to rhinoplasty.

Chin augmentation is for those who have a small or receding chin or a chin that looks too small compared with other facial features. It is intended to give the patient an improved profile and a more attractive jaw line that creates a better balance between the chin and other facial features.
An incision is made inside the lower lip and under the chin and an implant is placed.
The patient will go home with a small pressure dressing over the chin and can usually resume light activities in five to seven days. Some patients choose to have liposuction of their neck, a neck lift, or nose reshaping to further enhance their results.
